CloudHQ Project Asahi Technology Campus (BIG HOP, Inzai Makinohara)
Announced
Japan · 1 project · Last reported
Summary
On 29 September 2026 CloudHQ presented Project Asahi, its plan for the full redevelopment of BIG HOP Garden Mall Inzai beside Inzai Makinohara Station, to the Inzai City Council plenary briefing; the city published the deck the same day. Its site plan places two new data-centre blocks with office space on the mall site alongside rebuilt retail, a community park and future-development plots, and the city records that the operator is considering co-locating data centres on the site to fund the rebuilding of the commercial facility. This supports an announced project only: the city's notice says the plan is at an early stage with no prior consultation or permit procedure with the city, construction timing is undecided (the operator's mid-2030s operating target is a target, not a stage), no capacity or floor area is published, and the city's restrictive district-plan revision for this station area is still undecided. evidence

CloudHQ Project Asahi Technology Campus — planned data-centre buildings at BIG HOP Garden Mall Inzai
Announced last observed as of · Project announcement
Inzai City reports that, while it revises the district plans of the three Hokuso Line station areas to make data-centre siting (zoning) explicit, the BIG HOP operator explained that it is planning a large-scale redevelopment of the ageing mall and is considering co-locating a data centre on the site and using the proceeds to rebuild the commercial facility. The city set up resident explanation sessions by the operator on 10 and 11 October 2026 and links the operator's material and the city's briefing, both presented at the 29 September 2026 council plenary briefing. The page's FAQ (first appearance not bounded; the page was edited after 29 September) adds that the operator plans two new data-centre buildings after first building the new commercial facilities and plazas, may consider further on-site buildings, targets operation around the mid-2030s with construction timing undecided, and that the plan is at an early stage with no prior consultation or permit procedure with the city. evidence

City-prepared briefing on district-plan changes restricting data centres around the Hokuso Line stations. For the Inzai Makinohara Station front centre district it records that the BIG HOP operator (a landowner) explained a planned large-scale redevelopment and is considering a data centre on the site, and that the city arranged resident sessions in October 2026 outside the normal procedure. Page 16 maps the district on an aerial photograph with the BIG HOP block west of 印西牧の原駅 and a separately boxed '既存DC' (existing data centre) in its south-west corner. The Makinohara-east district change was completed in August 2026; no district-plan decision is recorded for the BIG HOP district. evidence

The mall's own access page gives its address as 〒270-1335 千葉県印西市原1-2 and lists 1,860 parking spaces. Its embedded map parameter is only a viewport centre and is not used as a locator. evidence

- Centroid of MOJ registry-map lot 原一丁目2-1, the roughly 13.3 ha BIG HOP Garden Mall Inzai parent property that Project Asahi redevelops. It does not locate either planned data-centre block (south-centre of the site on CloudHQ's plan), a building footprint, phase boundary, entrance or construction extent.
- Horizontal uncertainty
Not reported
Registry-map accuracy class 甲二 with coordinates from map digitisation (図上測量); no parcel-specific numeric accuracy is published. Offset from the centroid to the planned data-centre blocks is unmeasured (within the 13.3 ha parcel). Six decimals describe calculation, not survey accuracy.

A locator places the site on the map. It is not a building footprint, a construction extent or a surveyed boundary unless the use scope is an official boundary, and even then it is a parcel or permit boundary.
