Summary
Aker Nscale, then a joint venture of Aker and Nscale, plans an AI data center at Korgen in Hemnes municipality, Nordland, possibly at Statkraft's Nedre Røssåga power station. In October 2025 an Aker investment director estimated the site would draw about 250 MW of grid capacity and said it could be as large as the Narvik project. Aker Nscale had bought out Nordkraft's position and landowner agreements for a plot zoned for commercial use in Hemnes's proposed land-use plan, and was waiting in line for a Statnett power allocation. Trade press put the project at about USD 5.4bn. Aker passed its joint-venture stake to Nscale in March 2026; no later Korgen-specific update was found.
