Terranova Praia Grande data center campus (proposed)
Proposed
Brazil · 1 project · Last reported
Summary
Terranova, an Actis-backed Latin American hyperscale data center platform, has proposed a campus on a site of about one million square metres in Praia Grande on the São Paulo coast, close to the city's submarine cable landing point. It holds a land-control contract and has asked Brazil's grid operator ONS for 450 MW of grid access; the land purchase will close only if ONS approves. In February 2026 Terranova's chief executive estimated a first phase of roughly 350 MW of IT capacity. No investment figure or construction timeline has been disclosed, and an August 2026 report still described the purchase as awaiting ONS approval.

Only trade press covers this site; the August 2026 Construction Review article relays the February 2026 Teletime interview, so the two are not fully independent. Completion of the land purchase depends on ONS approving the 450 MW request; no source gives a date for it, and no ONS decision had been reported. Terranova's company-wide plan of about USD 1.5 billion over Brazil, Mexico and Chile is not a figure for this site. City coordinates come from Wikipedia (s3), used only for the map point. Terranova's Campinas campus is a separate record (terranova-campinas).
