Netherlands · 1 project · Last reported
Summary
Data center campus of Blackstone-backed QTS Data Centers at Huibertgatweg 2 in the Eemshaven port area of Groningen, the Netherlands. QTS bought the existing, then vacant 20 gross MW building in 2019 and in July 2025 was reported to be investing EUR 1.4 billion to expand the campus and double its regional capacity. QTS's campus page now describes up to 18 hectares, three facilities and 200 MW of planned capacity delivered in phases: the first building is operational, the second is in phased delivery and the third is under construction.

Status, the 200 MW, 18-hectare and three-building figures and job counts come from QTS's undated campus page, so status_as_of is the access date. The EUR 1.4 billion figure comes from the visible lede of a paywalled Tech Capital article; Dutch press coverage of the expansion (including a 2029 timeline and the name EEMSDC2) could not be opened, so it is not recorded. QTS's 2019 release said the site neighbours a 500+ MW campus of a hyperscale cloud provider. The campus page also mentions a partnership with WarmteStad to share residual heat from QTS's Netherlands data centers, without saying it covers Eemshaven.
