Summary
Google's first data center in Malaysia is being built in Sime Darby Property's Elmina Business Park in Selangor, in Greater Kuala Lumpur. Google announced in May 2024 a US$2 billion investment covering this data center and its first Malaysian cloud region, and broke ground in October 2024. Sime Darby Property is building the facility to Google's specifications under a lease arrangement with Google, which will operate it; Google says it will be water-cooled. Completion was targeted for early 2026, but Google's location list still showed the Selangor site as in development in October 2026.

Status rests on Google's undated living locations page, which listed Selangor, Malaysia as in development when accessed on 2026-10-09, so status_as_of is the access date. No power capacity was found in a source that could be opened. Wikipedia is cited only for the township coordinate. Google estimates the investment will support about 26,500 jobs across the economy by 2030; that is not a site job count, so it is not recorded as a metric.

A locator places the site on the map. It is not a building footprint, a construction extent or a surveyed boundary unless the use scope is an official boundary, and even then it is a parcel or permit boundary.
