Summary

VIRTUS Data Centres, part of ST Telemedia Global Data Centres, is developing a EUR 3 billion data center megacampus on more than 35 hectares in Wustermark, Havelland, about 12 km from Berlin's city limits. The campus is planned for up to nine data centers and 204 MW of IT load, with an initial 300 MW of power delivered through a dedicated substation with dual direct connections to the 50Hertz 380 kV grid, the first such connection for a Berlin-Brandenburg data center campus. Two 185 MVA super-grid transformers had been installed by June 2026; VIRTUS now projects operations from early 2028.

VIRTUS's current Wustermark Campus spec sheet (version 4.1; PDF created October 1, 2026) describes one megacampus of nine data centres, with 204 MW of IT load and a design PUE of 1.2. It gives no construction stage or opening date. The June 1 release's 'initial 300MW capacity' is not labelled IT load; the two 185 MVA transformers and the 500 MW dedicated substation are equipment and substation ratings. No MW/MVA conversion is made. The June 1 status, locality locator and recorded capacities stay unchanged. evidence

VIRTUS Data Centres · publication date not stated

Utility reports current construction of the existing Wustermark grid substation expansion, explicitly supporting VIRTUS. This is upstream power-infrastructure work and does not establish a new physical stage at the data-centre buildings. evidence

Utility identifies the connected customer as VIRTUS Germany Holdco GmbH. Its undated project page gives 300 MVA, while the October 7 press release gives 300 MW. Retain both units without conversion or forced reconciliation. evidence
