Summary

Galaxy Backbone's own post of 20 October 2026 names 'the Tier III National Shared Services Centre (NSSC) in Abuja' among its data centres and says Galaxy Backbone is the only public-sector organisation in Nigeria operating both Uptime Institute-certified Tier III and Tier IV data-centre infrastructure, providing hosting, cloud and co-location services. This records the NSSC Tier III data centre as operating on 20 October 2026, the post's publication day; it is not an opening date. Galaxy Backbone's 29 January 2025 release names the certified facility as NSSC DC1, Phase 1 (Uptime Tier III Certification of Constructed Facility); certification is context, not the status date, and no capacity is asserted. evidence

Location details

Coordinates: 9.06482, 7.49411
Geometry licence: all-rights-reserved
Use scope: Campus locator
Scope class: operator_selected_named_facility_marker_as_campus_locator
Authority: Compiled location reference
Source entity: Campus
Method: operator_selected_google_maps_feature_coordinates
Derivation: direct_geometry
Precision scope: Google's named 'Galaxy Backbone Limited, National Shared Services Center' marker, reached from the operator's own head-office map link, in the block north of Kur Mohammed Avenue and east of Ahmadu Bello Way, Central Business District, Abuja. It locates the NSSC campus, which the operator identifies as its corporate headquarters housing the Tier III data centre; it is not a data-hall location, building outline, parcel or boundary.
Horizontal uncertainty: Not reported
The map feature publishes no surveyed accuracy and the operator publishes no coordinate, plot number or boundary; the marker falls on open ground within the block rather than on an identified building, and PeeringDB's self-reported point is 190 m away.
Geometry evidence: faf4715c

A locator places the site on the map. It is not a building footprint, a construction extent or a surveyed boundary unless the use scope is an official boundary, and even then it is a parcel or permit boundary.
