SK AI Data Center Ulsan
Under construction
Korea, Republic of · 1 project · Last reported
Summary
SK Telecom and other SK Group companies are building an AI data center with Amazon Web Services on a former SK Chemicals site in the Mipo National Industrial Complex in Ulsan, South Korea. Plans call for a first phase of about 41 MW by November 2027 and about 103 MW by February 2029, with up to 60,000 GPUs and a longer-term aim of gigawatt scale. Power is to come from a nearby LNG-fuelled cogeneration plant. Construction began with an August 2025 groundbreaking. In August 2026 SK Telecom agreed to move SK Broadband's data center business, including the Ulsan build, into a new company, SK Horizon, backed by KKR and an IMM-Stonebridge consortium, subject to approvals.
