Microsoft Vaughan — second phase (second datacentre building)

Microsoft's Vaughan construction update published on 5 August 2026 reports the first building completed on 2 July 2026 and states that 'The second phase of construction is anticipated to begin in mid-2027' and that Microsoft 'will share additional information about the second building with neighbours in the fall of 2026'. This announces a second phase, with a second datacentre building, of the Vaughan datacentre as of 5 August 2026. The mid-2027 start is a forecast; no permit, site work or construction of the second phase is asserted. York Region's register separately records the 'Data Centre Phase 2' site plan (3-storey data processing centre with office) on the same lands, at intake with a fifth submission on 30 July 2026 and not approved. evidence

Not reported

The regional service publishes no positional accuracy. The application boundary extends up to about 287 m from the centroid, and the first building's position within it is not mapped.

A locator places the site on the map. It is not a building footprint, a construction extent or a surveyed boundary unless the use scope is an official boundary, and even then it is a parcel or permit boundary.
