Under construction
United States · 1 project · Last reported
Summary
Hyperscale data center campus that CyrusOne is building next to Calpine's Thad Hill Energy Center in Bosque County, Texas, under a powered land agreement covering power, grid connection and land. Calpine announced a 190 MW first phase in July 2025, when the project was reported as a USD 1.2 billion investment, and added 210 MW in November 2025 for 400 MW in total. Calpine then said the facility was under construction for operation by the fourth quarter of 2026. CyrusOne's campus page now lists five buildings in two phases, with phase 1 due by the third quarter of 2027 and all phases by the fourth quarter of 2027.

Status conflict: Calpine said in July and November 2025 that the facility was under construction, but CyrusOne's undated campus page (it mentions events up to June 2026) labels it in development, refers to a county review process and describes some pre-construction steps as still ahead; its delivery dates are also later than Calpine's target. Status stays at under construction from Calpine's latest statement; no 2026 source confirms any building operating. The page says operating water comes from an on-site well permitted by the Middle Trinity Groundwater Conservation District, about 250,000 gallons per building a year. CyrusOne's Freestone Energy Center campus is a separate record.
