Summary

Google's first Missouri data center campus, at the Hunt Midwest Business Center off NE Parvin Road in Kansas City's Northland (Clay County). Google announced the $1 billion project in March 2024, with Evergy powering the site and a 400 MW solar PPA from the Beavertail Solar farm with Ranger Power and DESRI. Google, partly through the Alphabet vehicle Shalerock LLC, had assembled more than 315 acres in the Northland by late 2021 for a project called Project Shale. Google's site now describes two new data centers in Kansas City as in development, while a third-party listing reports the first building operational since 2025 within a four-phase plan of about 1.435 million sq ft.

Status follows Google's undated page, which labels Kansas City as in development with two new data centers being built, and an undated third-party listing that reports a building completed in 2025; status_as_of is the access date because neither page carries a publication date. The listing's claim that the first building is operational is not confirmed by Google, so the record is not marked partially operational. Google's March 2024 announcement tied the site to its AI and cloud business.

A locator places the site on the map. It is not a building footprint, a construction extent or a surveyed boundary unless the use scope is an official boundary, and even then it is a parcel or permit boundary.

Evidence
