Summary
Meta data center in Kansas City, Missouri, announced in March 2022 as an investment of more than USD 800 million and reported to be serving traffic in August 2025. Meta later put its Missouri investment at more than USD 1 billion and, in its fact sheet, USD 1.2 billion. Construction began in 2022, with an average of 1,500 skilled trade workers on site at peak. Evergy is the utility; Meta says it worked with Evergy on a tariff that lets customers contract for new renewable energy, and it reports three Missouri clean energy projects totaling 599 MW. No power capacity for the data center itself has been published.
