AWS Salem Township Innovation Campus (Susquehanna)
Amazon Web Services campus next to Talen Energy's Susquehanna nuclear plant in Salem Township, Luzerne County. AWS bought Talen's Cumulus campus, planned at up to 960 MW, in March 2024 and won township rezoning in May 2024. In June 2025 Talen agreed to supply Amazon 1,920 MW from Susquehanna through 2042, moving delivery onto the grid after a spring 2026 reconfiguration. The site was one of the first two named in Amazon's plan to invest at least $20 billion in Pennsylvania. Amazon says it operates a data center campus there and shows active construction since October 2025 toward 20 data centers.

Status: Amazon's 2024 purchase included an existing data center at the site, and Amazon's campus page says it operates a data center campus there while labelling the site as under active construction; its timeline lists commissioning and operation of the new buildings as to be determined, so the record uses partially operational. Amazon's project pages carry no publication date, so statements from them use the date accessed (2026-10-09). Amazon's at least $20 billion Pennsylvania figure covers several campuses and is not assigned to this site. Amazon and Talen also plan to explore small modular reactors.
