Rowan Cinco Data Center Campus (Rowan Cinco Subdivision, CR 683, between Lytle and Natalia, Medina County)
Under construction
United States · 1 project · Last reported
Summary
Rowan Digital Infrastructure's Medina County project site, in its Internet Archive copy of 7 October 2026, says that Project Cinco 'is a sustainable hyperscale data center campus developed on approximately 440 acres in Medina County, Texas, between Lytle and Natalia. It has been under construction since 2025.' The FAQ copied the same day adds that 'More than 500 construction jobs are already here, due to Project Cinco' and that development on the site is under way after Medina County approved the site plan in summer 2025 and Rowan broke ground in September 2025. This records the campus as under construction on 7 October 2026, the archive capture day; it is neither the start of construction nor an inspection day. Rowan describes the campus as a 300 MW development whose first phase was financed in early 2026; no building count, completed phase, capacity in service, operator or customer is established, and Rowan says it is not the data-centre operator. evidence

Project Cinco — hyperscale data center campus under construction (first development phase)
Under construction last observed as of · Authoritative status update
The FAQ says that 'Project Cinco is being built on about 440 acres of land in unincorporated Medina County between Lytle and Natalia, just north of Interstate 35', that 'More than 500 construction jobs are already here, due to Project Cinco', and that Rowan submitted its site plan application to Medina County, which was approved through the county's public hearing process in summer 2025, held a groundbreaking ceremony in September 2025, 'and development on the site is now underway.' It says Rowan 'is not a data center operator' and works with an end user, typically identified closer to completion; that Rowan funded and built a new access road for the Coal Mine neighborhood at the request of Medina County and the City of Lytle; and that a temporary natural-gas power solution is planned for a portion of the campus. It says Project Pirate 'was announced in September 2026 and will move through public hearings in October' and could begin construction shortly after approval. evidence

The April 2026 FAQ says 'The Cinco project is being built on about 440 acres of land in unincorporated Medina County between Lytle and Natalia, just north of Interstate 35' and 'Construction is now underway, already supporting hundreds of good-paying jobs in the region', with the same site-plan approval (summer 2025) and September 2025 groundbreaking timeline. It does not mention Project Pirate. evidence

Rowan publishes the 7 August 2026 letter from its chief executive to the Governor of Texas. The letter says Rowan 'has three data center campuses leased to top US technology companies under construction in Texas, as well as a substantial pipeline of development-ready projects', that its Texas facilities use closed-loop, air-chilled cooling, and closes with an invitation 'to visit our Temple or Medina County campus'. At that date Rowan's only Medina County project was Cinco (Project Pirate was announced in September 2026). evidence

- Centroid of the union of Rowan Cinco Subdivision Lots 1R, 3, 4 and 5 (Medina Appraisal District parcels 518104, 520263, 520264 and 520265; owner Rowan Land Resources LLC; 425.832 geodesic acres in three parts, about 2,043 by 1,258 m) from the TxGIO parcel service. It locates the Rowan-owned subdivision that Rowan calls its 440-acre Cinco site, not any building; Lot 2 of the subdivision (8.5 acres, AEP Texas Inc) is excluded.
- Horizontal uncertainty
Not reported
Appraisal-district parcels carry no published positional accuracy; the centroid represents a 426-acre, three-part subdivision whose vertices lie up to 1,113 m away, and Rowan publishes no building positions within it.

A locator places the site on the map. It is not a building footprint, a construction extent or a surveyed boundary unless the use scope is an official boundary, and even then it is a parcel or permit boundary.
