United States · 1 project · Last reported
Summary
Multi-building Meta campus on roughly 800 acres in Gallatin, Tennessee. Construction began in August 2020 on what was first a USD 800 million commitment; by September 2022 the project was described as a nearly USD 1 billion investment, and in 2024 Meta filed plans for a further 278,000 sq ft data center that would take the campus to almost 1.9 million sq ft. In November 2024 Meta formally presented the operating campus to officials and said total investment would exceed USD 1.5 billion once the fourth data center is finished. DPR Construction is building the campus, and Meta says it planned its energy needs with the Tennessee Valley Authority.

In November 2024 the campus was described as operating while its fourth data center was still under construction; no later report on that building was found. Reported site size differs: about 800 acres (Nashville Business Journal, 2024) versus more than 900 acres (W.Media, 2022). Peak construction workforce also differs: 1,700 in W.Media's 2022 report versus 1,100 on Meta's fact sheet. Meta's fact sheet (s1) shows no publication date (embedded file creation date 2026-09-02), so figures that rest on it alone are dated to the access date, 2026-10-09. The Nashville Business Journal articles are cited from reposts on the Gallatin Economic Development Agency site.
