Farmington Technology Park (Tract data-center campus, Farmington, Minnesota)

Summary
The City of Farmington's project page for the Farmington Technology Park Project (developer Tract), in its update dated 16 September 2026, reports that the plaintiffs in both legal matters involving the City (litigation that had asked the court to stop steps in the development process) have filed dismissals that await final directions from the court. The page records the City's 2024 approvals for the data-center technology park (final AUAR, comprehensive-plan amendment, rezoning, preliminary and final plat, PUD-1 Ordinance 2024-12 and a development contract), the April 2026 division of the plat into a 1st Addition (former Fountain Valley Golf Course) and a 2nd Addition with updated development contracts, and recording of the 1st Addition plat on 19 May 2026. The PUD leaves site, grading and building plans to later City approval, and no site plan, building permit or data-centre construction is recorded, so the campus is recorded as announced on 16 September 2026. The demolition of former golf-course buildings (permit issued 18 May, finaled 30 June 2026) predates the window and is not treated as data-centre construction. evidence

The staff report (packet pages 7-8) states that the Farmington Technology Park final plat approved on 18 November 2024 had not been recorded because of litigation and that the applicants ask to divide it into a 1st Addition (former Fountain Valley Golf Course) and a 2nd Addition (the Independent School District 192 property), identical to the approved plat. It lists Lot 1, Block 1, 1st Addition, 150.74 acres, 'northern portion of the data center campus'; Lot 2, Block 1, 1st Addition, 2.07 acres, to be deeded to the city for utility purposes; and Lot 1, Block 1, 2nd Addition, 185.54 acres, 'southern portion of data center campus', partly floodplain under a conservation easement. Recording the 1st Addition with the development contract would 'allow for some preliminary site work to commence'. The applications name MNLCO Farmington, LLC (2830 220th St W, former golf course, zoned MUCI) and, for parcels 07-00500-76-011 and 07-00500-76-012, the school district; counsel's letter of 30 March 2026 identifies MNLCO Farmington, LLC and MNLCO Farmington Two, LLC as 'Tract' and asks for a one-year recording extension for the 2nd Addition to 20 April 2027. evidence

The ordinance (scanned; page 1 read by rendering) adds 'PUD-1 – Farmington Technology Park' to the zoning code. Site, landscaping, lighting, grading, building, storm-water and utility plans and noise studies must be reviewed and approved by the City; the permitted use is 'Data Center Technology Park', with electric substations as accessory use; building setbacks are 250 feet from residential uses (including those south of 225th Street West) and 150 feet from non-residential uses. evidence

- Centroid of the union of the three Dakota County tax parcels forming the platted data-center campus: Lot 1, Block 1, Farmington Technology Park 1st Addition (PIN 037-142593001010, 2830 220th St W, 150.75 acres, owner of record MNLCO Farmington LLC) and the two parcels of the future 2nd Addition (PINs 037-140050076011, 178.58 acres, and 037-140050076012, 10.0 acres, owner of record MNLCO Farmington Two LLC); 339.3 geodesic acres in two parts about 10 m apart, about 1.0 by 1.6 km. It locates the campus land, not any building; the city utility lot (Lot 2, 2.07 acres) is excluded.
- Horizontal uncertainty
Not reported
Dakota County publishes no positional accuracy for parcel polygons; the centroid represents a 339-acre campus whose building layout has not been submitted, and the 2nd Addition match rests on parcel numbering, owner and acreage rather than a recorded plat.

A locator places the site on the map. It is not a building footprint, a construction extent or a surveyed boundary unless the use scope is an official boundary, and even then it is a parcel or permit boundary.
