Summary

Hyperscale data center campus planned by STACK Infrastructure on about 2,990 acres of the Southern Virginia Megasite at Berry Hill in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. The Danville-Pittsylvania regional industrial authority approved the land sale in March 2026 at USD 238,000 an acre, about USD 720 million in all. WDBJ reported USD 73 billion of investment over 30 years in April 2026, and county supervisors backed a campus reported at USD 100 billion in July 2026. Appalachian Power will serve the site; the authority's chairman expects the first building to run by about July 2027, and full build-out could take 15 to 30 years.

No MW figure from STACK or local officials was found, so the record qualifies on investment. The March 2026 sale was approved to SAC III Acquisition, which shares an address with STACK; STACK was to take down the land in multiple phases, and no closing was reported in the sources. Officials said the project takes no local tax incentives and that most buildings will be dry-cooled, drawing roughly 10,000 to 20,000 gallons of water a day supplied from Eden through Danville. A resident petition against the project had more than 700 signatures in July 2026. A construction start had not been announced.
