Vantage Data Centers is building Frontier, a 1,200-acre campus of ten single-story data centers in Shackelford County, Texas, near Abilene. It is planned at 1.4 GW and roughly $25 billion. In September 2025 it was named one of the new Stargate sites under the OpenAI and Oracle agreement. Analysts report power will come from an off-grid natural gas microgrid built and run by VoltaGrid. A groundbreaking was reported in December 2025, and state building registrations filed in mid-2026 list building start dates in 2026 and completions in 2027. Vantage targeted the first building for the second half of 2026, and trade press reports campus completion in 2028.
