Meta Mesa Data Center
Expansion
United States · 1 project · Last reported
Summary
Five-building Meta campus on 396 acres at the southeast corner of Elliot and Ellsworth Roads in Mesa, Arizona (3841 S. Ellsworth Road). Meta broke ground in August 2021 on a USD 800 million, two-building plan; in May 2022 it added three buildings, taking the campus to about 2.5 million sq ft and more than USD 1 billion. DPR Construction is the builder. The first two buildings went live in January 2025, with the rest expected around 2026, and Meta now cites a USD 1.2 billion investment. Salt River Project's 200 MW Brittlebush solar plant dedicates its full output to the campus.
Source record as of 2025-01-31 · Details and sources
The City of Mesa's public building-inspection records show physical expansion work on Meta's Mesa campus at 3841 S Ellsworth Road: on permit PMT26-03021 ('Building 17', a new 144,640 sq ft data storage building whose foundation was built under the 'MAZ7 - At Risk - Foundation' permit) city inspectors recorded 34 approvals or partial approvals between 4 August and 20 October 2026, including framing, plumbing, mechanical and electrical rough-in and above-ceiling inspections, the latest an electrical rough-in partial approval on 20 October 2026. This records expansion work at the existing Meta Mesa data center as of 20 October 2026. It does not establish the completion of Building 17 or any change to the operating buildings, and the record's imported locator is unchanged. evidence

No 2026 report was found confirming that buildings three to five are in service; Meta's fact sheet (s1) says the data center went online in 2025 but gives no building status. The fact sheet shows no publication date (embedded file creation date 2026-09-02), so figures that rest on it alone are dated to the access date, 2026-10-09. Meta bought the 396-acre site in 2021 for USD 123.2 million.
