Crusoe Abilene AI factory campus for Microsoft
Site records
Crusoe's second AI campus in Abilene, Texas, on Lancium-owned land adjacent to its first Abilene campus, announced in March 2026 to support large-scale AI workloads for Microsoft. The 900 MW site has two buildings, each designed for 336 MW of critical IT load, a 900 MW behind-the-meter on-site power plant paired with medium-voltage battery storage, and closed-loop, non-evaporative liquid cooling. Land clearing and site preparation were under way at announcement, Crusoe said in July 2026 that it was building the campus, and the first building is expected to be energized in mid-2027.
This record reports under construction as of 2026-07-15. Crusoe
Location: Abilene, Texas, US. Crusoe places the campus in Abilene, adjacent to its existing campus, without an address. Coordinates are the Abilene city point from its Wikipedia article; the city spans Taylor and Jones counties, so no county is recorded. Crusoe; Crusoe; Wikipedia

This is a separate build from the eight-building Stargate Abilene campus (openai-stargate-abilene); Crusoe gives about 2.1 GW for its two Abilene campuses combined. The Register reports that Oracle and OpenAI had planned to lease this expansion before negotiations and financing fell through, and that Meta had been expected to take it before Microsoft; these are press reports, not company statements, and are not recorded as parties. In September 2026 Crusoe said it had two campuses under development in Abilene but gave no new status detail for this one.
