Stargate Abilene (Crusoe campus on Lancium land)

Site records

Crusoe-developed eight-building AI campus in Abilene, Texas, planned at about 1.2 GW and leased to Oracle, which runs it for OpenAI as the flagship Stargate site. Construction began in mid-2024; the first buildings came online in September 2025 and the last building was topped out in November 2025. The build is funded through a Crusoe, Blue Owl and Primary Digital joint venture on Lancium-owned land. A potential 600 MW expansion nearby was floated in 2025, but reports in March 2026 said it had been dropped, which Oracle disputed. In late September 2026 trade press reported six buildings delivered to OpenAI, and analyst Epoch AI projected all eight running by November 2026.

Estimates of how much of the campus is live differ: an Oracle post in April 2026 said 200 MW was operating, analyst Epoch AI estimated about 0.3 GW of facility power then and about 421 MW of IT load by mid-2026, and The Tech Capital reported six buildings delivered to OpenAI in late September 2026. Epoch figures are analyst estimates, not company disclosures. Crusoe is separately building a 900 MW data center on adjacent Lancium-owned land, which Epoch links to Microsoft; it is a different project.
